2025Building a digital platform that helps volunteer communities connect and grow
ivoluntry is designed to make volunteering more accessible and impactful. As co-founder and UI/UX designer, I crafted a user experience that connects municipalities, organizations, and volunteers through events tailored to their interests. The platform aims to grow into a gamified hub that fosters engagement and strengthens local communities.

Overview
With ivoluntry, the goal was not simply to build another digital tool, but to rethink the way volunteering is experienced in a modern context.
Traditional processes often felt fragmented, outdated, and difficult to navigate — especially for younger people who wanted to contribute but found it hard to identify the right opportunities.
My focus as co-founder and lead designer was to create an experience that feels clear, approachable, and genuinely engaging. The challenge lay in transforming a complex landscape of information into a structured, user-friendly journey: one where people could quickly understand what mattered, feel motivated to participate, and recognize the value of their contribution.
The design approach combined simplicity with subtle gamification elements, ensuring that the platform was both accessible across age groups and inspiring for a new generation of volunteers. The outcome was a digital environment that not only connects individuals with organizations, but also encourages ongoing participation and builds a stronger sense of community.
My Role & Responsibilities
As co-founder and lead designer, I shaped the brand identity and the entire digital experience of ivoluntry — spanning the website, mobile app, and admin platform. Alongside the design work, I also carried responsibilities that touched on product ownership: coordinating developers, organizing feedback loops, and aligning priorities to ensure the product vision remained consistent.
This journey gave me far more than design expertise. By speaking with volunteers and organizations, analyzing competitors, and observing user behavior, I learned how even small details in design can influence trust, motivation, and engagement.
My aim was not only to create intuitive interfaces, but to build a brand that felt approachable, youthful, and inspiring — something that users could truly identify with.
At the same time, I gained experience in setting and working toward clear goals, balancing design decisions with broader product objectives. Presenting at major events, engaging stakeholders, and adapting through constant iterations taught me resilience and showed me how design, strategy, and ownership come together to shape a product that communities can rely on.
